Society (also inc. organisations, guilds, knightly orders, religion etc.) The Empire once ruled over all of Caevalonia (well, all the places colonised by humans). But after the incident with the Seven, communications broke down allowing regions on the Empire's periphery to break off and form their own kingdoms. The now weakened Empire tried to reclaim these kingdoms and war broke out in bouts that continued on and off over centuries. This turmoil was taken advantage of by Shine when her demonic armies attacked, allowing for the destruction of the lands south of the Dragon Mountains and Grey Mountains. Bel-Sharoth also took advantage of the wars, and his undead forces brought about the creation of the Desolation to the east, beyond the Troll Fell mountains. After this, subsequent Emperors kept the truces that had been formed when these nations had to unite and fight together lest all be destroyed. But now, after relative peace, the latest Emperor, Vaal, believes that these lands should belong once more to the Empire which was originally responsible for their founding when Caevalonia was first being colonised. And so it seems war may be looming once more. On Usenames - these are a long-standing tradition on Tymaera. Perhaps inspired by the magical races who have True Names, which can be used to summon, bind and even control them. Regular folk all start with Birth Names and superstition has led to the belief that a person's name contains a certain power over them. As such, people chose usenames, or Common Names, which they are known more widely by. The Naming is a rite of passage as children journey to adulthood. The name itself may come from a nickname, profession, place of origin, there are no set rules on what it may be. However, once a usename has been chosen, then it is considered bad form to use that person's birthname unless invited. Another big no-no is using someone's birthname in front of strangers. To give a stranger a birth name is a sign of trust. Major Figures
