Chillshadows
Description:
Incorporeal beings that hover at the very border of the realm of the living, these are the dark killers known as chillshadows. These creatures can exist only in dark places for they are weakened and even destroyed by bright light. They are insubstantial and look like disembodied shadows that are just a little darker than their surroundings, so the trained eye can just about see them.
They attack by draining the life force from their victim in order to perpetuate their own existences since food cannot sustain them. To attack they must briefly become solid, and this is the only time that they are vulnerable to physical attack when they can be harmed by ordinary weapons. Otherwise the only way to get rid of them is by using bright lights.
