Blood and Tears pt2

The three Daemonslayers edged cautiously towards the figure, Blackjack hanging back a little to keep an eye on the situation while all three got a good look at the figure.

It was a man, hunched low in a crouch, a black trench-coat covering most of him, one hand, clawed and bony resting on the rock, supporting him, the other arm outstretched, hand in front of face, holding a delicate black petaled rose in thumb and middle claw

The trenchcoat was ripped open in two short tears along the back, over the shoulders to give way for a pair of leathery black wings, tipped by bony spikes, which were folded close to the back, a pair of sheathed greatswords, one with a silver hilt, the other black, protruding from between them and over the shoulders.

The face was grim, short spiky black hair framing slightly pointed ears and a pale, youthful face, with prominent cheekbones and a short, almost wolf-like nose. The eyes were blue and luminous, with no discernible pupil or cornea. A long scar ran across the right eye from the forehead to mid-cheek, as the glowing eyes gazed calmly at the black rose held delicately in one claw.

Soul slowly walked forward, hands held out wide to appear as un-threatening as possible.

'Who are you?' she asked, never taking her eyes from the creature, who let out a short, mirthless laugh before replying.

'Me? I'm no-one, just some-one who doesn't want a second creature to suffer by his in-action.'

'What do you mean?' said Shade, stepping forwards, thinking of his brother, Jed.

'I'm someone who caused great suffering to one I hold extremely dear, all I had to do was take their hand and.....and.....I could have saved them......'

The creature lowered his gaze to look at the floor, an expression of grief and sorrow on his face

'All I had to do was reach out....'

Shade stepped forward concernedly

'Who...'

Suddenly, he stopped, sniffing the air, and turned back to the creature, drawing his fireblade and narrowing his eyes in anger as he realised what the creature was

'Vampire.....'
