Blood and Tears pt1

'Oh great idea Blackjack' Soul dodged another swipe from one of the gibbering demons.

'Shut up animal girl, you were the one who wanted a new pet.' snarled Blackjack, decapitating a screeching demon with his battleaxe.

'YOU were the one who said, and I quote 'Oh what about this portal?' said Soul, in a high whiny voice 'There won't be any danger, just lots of loot and cute animals.....IDIOT!'

'Will you two just stop bickering and fight?!' screamed Shade, swinging his burning Fireblade at a demon while the tail of his raven-armour impaled another.

'We need to take these things out and THEN we can argue about whose fault all this was.'

'Well, If you insist.' said Blackjack, swinging his axe back over his shoulder and drawing his throwing knives, throwing them as fast as he could aim and they could magically return to his hands.

Suddenly a cacophonous howling erupted from a side-tunnel of the cave, and a huge pack of howling, wolflike demons burst, barking and snarling into the cave and towards the Daemonslayers.

'We, are so boned.' Said Shade.

'Wanna bet?' said Blackjack, grabbing his axe and hewing into the demons that engulfed the Daemonslayers, forcing them into a near-futile battle for their live/unlives.

Suddenly a huge volley of crimson energy bolts flew from a side cavern, tearing into the demons, eating through flesh and bone, With the demons screaming in fear and pain, and disarrayed by their sudden losses, the Daemonslayers made quick work of the remainder, killing them easily ,in less than a minute the demons were dead, dying or running.

'One question.' said Soul, pointing to the charred corpse of some of the demons hit by the energy blasts 'Who did this?'

Blackjack tapped her on the shoulder and pointed to a dark figure crouched on a nearby rock.

'What about him?'
